Jade Roller

Made From Solid Pure Jade

Jade Rollers traditionally were used to flatten wrinkles on the face and clear fluid congestion. In modern understanding their most useful function is that they increase lymphatic drainage.
It’s always easy to reach for a pot of cream offering to firm skin, erase wrinkles, cure sagging. But can we learn and benefit from the past, natural ways of approaching anti-ageing and beauty?
I find that my own face has a tendency to be a little puffy first thing in the morning, but running a jade roller across my face, and around my eyes seems to help reduce the puffiness. The Jade Roller always feels cool on contact with the skin and is extremely soothing.
Jade Rollers – the science and history behind this anti-ageing beauty tool
Jade holds a significant and even mystical place in Chinese society. Jade artefacts dating back to 5000BC have been found in China and Jade rollers have been found in tombs dating back to the 12th century. During this time jade was always considered a symbol of beauty, grace and longevity. The ancient Emperors, his wives and concubines all made good use of these precious beauty products and jade rollers were part of every wealthy and powerful women’s beauty chest in ancient China. The Jade rollers have experienced continuous use right up to the present where they can be found in cosmetic acupuncture clinics and increasingly modern day spas. As the properties of jade become better known minute amounts of crushed jade are also beginning to be used in modern beauty creams.
What are Jade Rollers used for
Traditionally they were used to flatten wrinkles on the face and clear fluid congestion. Jade is an interesting semiprecious stone in that it remains cold while in contact with the skin and this allows it to help close the pores and tighten the skin. In modern understanding their most useful function is that they increase lymphatic drainage.
Using the Jade Roller
Great to use in combination with Argan Oil. If using Argan Oil first apply the oil, then use the Jade Roller to roll the oil into your skin. The basic principle is to roll in an upwards and outwards direction as this is believed to lift the qi or energy of the face. Traditionally the massage always started on the right side of the face and then massaged the left second as this is the direction the energy in this part of the body is believed to flow. The rollers are also excellent to use on areas such as the eyes and neck which are harder to treat.
Massage the face gently moving the lymph, cooling the skin and stimulating the cells.
The Jade Roller is moved with just the weight of the roller pressing the skin. No additional pressure is needed or of benefit. From the center line going either left or right begin at the hairline rolling slowly towards the ear. Repeat 3 to 6 times at the same line. After repeating move down to roll another line. Continue to the eyee. Continue rolling in strips from the corner of the eye to the ear. Below the eye work from the nose out to the ear. Continue with upper lip, lower lip and the chin. At the chin follow out the lower jaw line to under the ear lobe. Then repeat with the other side. When that is finished do long rolls from under the chin to the collar bone working out to the side of the neck starting each sweep from the chin. Benefits are the moving of lymph and increasing blood circulation for a healthy youthful appearance when used regularly.

The Jade Roller improves lymphatic drainage around the eyes, the most common site of blockage. It can reduce discoloration sometimes caused by dark shadows. To use, place vertically into the inner corner of the eye, using gentle rocking motion, press lightly to encourage drainage in eye zone and reduce puffiness. Another useful technique is to press the Roller gently around the eye-socket in a clockwise direction three times, this will give you a fresher faced look in the morning, help avoid the horrors of puffy eyes and generally avoid the morning after the night before look. Also useful for the area between the nose and lips and for decongesting sinuses.

Hyaluronic Acid

External Topical Use Only

From The New York Times
Hyaluronic acid is a non-sulfated glycosaminoglycan distributed widely throughout the body in the connective, epithelial, and neural tissues. It is one of the chief components of the extracellular matrix and contributes significantly to cell proliferation and migration. The average person has roughly 15 grams of hyaluronic acid in their body, one third of which is lost and replaced each day.
The surface layers of the skin are supported from below by columns of fibers made up mostly of collagen and elastin. This network of fibers forms the molecular sponge known as connective tissue.
The spaces within this sponge are filled with a composition of water, protein complexes, and hyaluronic acid. This jelly-like complex transports essential nutrients from the bloodstream, via the capillaries in your skin. Hyaluronic acid attracts and holds water, which is what plumps your skin so that wrinkles and lines are less visible.
With properties like that, it is clear that hyaluronic acid is vital to:
Curb premature wrinkling
Increase skin hydration
Keep skin moist and smooth
Boost skin elasticity
Enhance collagen synthesis
Nourish healthy skin cell growth
Promote firm skin tone
Support healthier joints
Hyaluronic acid is a healthy alternative for fighting the effects of aging … and the good news is that it’s inexpensive, natural, and free of side effects.Hyaluronic acid begins to decrease in your early 20s and this accelerates when you hit 40. (In fact, 50 year olds are estimated to have less than half the hyaluronic acid of people in their 20s.)4 There is a decrease in the amount of hyaluronic fluid and its synthesis, which in turn leads to a decrease in intra-cellular fluid. This results in skin that is drier and more vulnerable to damage.
The formation and maintenance of collagen, which is also vital to maintaining skin elasticity and tone, is affected. You begin to notice more crow’s feet and wrinkles because your skin loses its elasticity.

Argan Oil

100% Pure Extra Virigin Superior Grade Argan Moroccan Marrakesh Oil 100% Pure Organic Natural Oil. Method of extraction: Cold Pressed/Refined
Often called ‘liquid gold’, argan oil is an organic product extracted from the kernels of the argan tree, which is native to Morocco. It is extremely rich in beneficial nutrients including fatty acids and vitamin E. Its properties make it particularly beneficial for the hair and skin, which makes it a popular cosmetic choice for many celebrities. It’s not just for the rich and famous, though – anyone can reap the argan oil benefits for their body.
One of the main reasons that argan oil is so healing, is that it is rich with vitamin A and vitamin E. However, argan oil is also packed with anti-oxidants, Omega-6 fatty acids, and linoleic acid. Research shows that when applied to skin, it eases inflammation while moisturizing the skin.
When applied externally, trocopherol from the vitamin E, helps to boost cell production while promoting healthy skin and hair. This is why cosmetic companies are including it in their high-end anti-aging, hair, and skin care products.
The good news, to get all of the benefits of this precious little nut, you don’t have to purchase luxury hair and skin care products. You can purchase just the oil, making it a versatile addition to your beauty routine. True, 100% argan oil is expensive; but fortunately, just a drop or two will nourish hair and skin throughout the day.
Argan oil is most commonly used as a skin moisturizer to hydrate and soften skin. With its high vitamin E and fatty acid content, argan oil is the ideal product to give skin a natural boost. It absorbs easily and is non-greasy and non-irritating, which makes it a great natural moisturiser.
As Argan oil contains a high concentration of vitamin E and saponins, it functions well when applied directly to the face. Besides useful as antioxidants, the oil also helps to moisturize dry skin and improve elasticity. It is even safe to use as a daily moisturizer.
Some people suggest that the everyday use of Argan oil creates clear and smooth facial skin condition. Furthermore, you can even use this oil as a full-body skin moisturizer and lips conditioner as well.
